Companies should cut their own emissions first. For the emissions that remain, high-quality carbon credits can fund climate work beyond your own operations. Paskaia's credits pay for fire brigades, firebreaks, restoration, monitoring and local jobs in La Mosquitia. You can come and stand inside the forest your purchase protects.
What you're buying
Every credit represents carbon stored as degraded savanna turns back into forest. The link between the work and the result is direct: where fires return, young trees die; where we stop the fires, they live. We document it every season. We currently hold issued vintages and sell ex-ante credits under Plan Vivo V4, registered on the Markit Environmental Registry (S&P Global) and retirable today.

Plan Vivo is the standard built for community-led land and ecosystem restoration. It puts communities at the centre, with strict rules for monitoring, reporting, participation and benefit sharing. Where the money goes
At least 60% of revenue goes directly to participating communities. Here's what it pays for:

Impact
A large part of the community takes part in a rotating fire brigade that protects common land. This restructuring, initiated by the Miskito people, ensures the whole community benefits rather than just a select few. For most people, it is their first stable income.
By protecting the land around the villages, the community effectively prevents common smoke-related problems, such as eye infections.
The Miskito people have historically faced socio-economic marginalisation. La Mosquitia remains one of the poorest regions in Central America, with very high unemployment. Paskaia addresses this by offering sustainable income opportunities — either by taking part in reforestation on their own land, or by joining the fire brigade to protect common land.
Allowing natural regeneration to restore the protected land ensures local, diverse and sustainable growth. The restored areas don't just store significant amounts of carbon — they become habitats for rich wildlife. The trees also improve water retention, making the land more resilient to the natural crises that often hit the region.
Paskaia works closely not only with local governance structures such as MASTA, but also with leading universities, researchers and companies around the world, bringing together broad knowledge and fostering collaboration.
